# Estimate AI Workflow Costs Before Running a Batch

## How do retries change the cost per usable output?

Do not copy the invented rate into a budget. Replace it with your provider's billing unit, current price source, and measured usage from a permitted trial. If the provider bills tokens, this per-call example cannot be used without a token estimate. Keep reviewer time in its own unit rather than silently valuing it at zero.
