Convert a checked brief into an argument with one job per slide, evidence references, and useful speaker notes. Review the outline for unsupported leaps before building the deck in your chosen software.

What does the supplier slide outline need to retain?
The presentation should not call one supplier cheapest while the underlying amounts remain incomparable. The storyline can still be useful by obtaining agreement on the questions and buying criteria.
Use this authored outline as the compact review version; the six-part example below can serve a longer meeting. In Canva, create a presentation from a current template and copy the reviewed content, or use the currently documented in-Doc slides route. The discontinued Docs to Decks conversion button is not a required step. Check layout and source notes in the resulting editor file.
| Part | Audience job | Evidence to retain |
|---|---|---|
| Decision and requirement | Understand what must be bought | Quantity, specification, destination |
| Available offers | See the candidates | Dated quote IDs |
| Comparability gaps | Understand why prices differ | MOQ, currency, missing charges |
| Candidate questions | See what must be resolved | Source-linked open terms |
| Decision criteria | Agree how to shortlist | Buyer priorities |
| Next action | Assign the clarification work | Owner and confirmation state |
Check the completed record
| Slide | Visible message | Evidence / speaker note |
|---|---|---|
| 1 / Decision | Agree what we need to buy | Quantity, specification, destination from buyer brief |
| 2 / Offers | Three quotes use different buying conditions | Quote IDs; do not rank bare unit prices |
| 3 / Questions | Resolve freight and minimum-order scope | Keep each unanswered term beside its quote |
| 4 / Next step | Ask the supplier questions before shortlisting | Assign a buyer to obtain the missing terms |
What decision should the audience make?
Write the question the presentation should resolve, the audience's starting knowledge, and the action or discussion expected at the end. A recommendation to buy a service needs different slides from a workshop explaining how a process works. Keep the source brief available so the outline does not have to recreate the research.
List the observations, tradeoffs, and uncertainties essential to the decision. Leave supporting detail in notes or an appendix when it would interrupt the argument. A source label on a slide should identify the actual evidence, not simply point to a broad report homepage.
Create the outline before formatting
- Write a short opening explaining the decision and why it is being discussed now.
- Choose the few findings needed to understand the options, retaining relevant limits.
- Give each slide a purpose and a message stated as a sentence.
- Attach the evidence IDs and any visual that would help explain the message.
- Write speaker notes with context, definitions, and anticipated questions rather than duplicating every bullet.
- End with the requested decision, unresolved conditions, and the next owner or action.
Build in your editor after the argument is approved
Use a presentation template or another supported route in your chosen editor. Product workflows change, so follow the current documentation rather than assuming an old document-conversion button remains available. Canva's current help is linked as one route to inspect.
During the build, check contrast, text size, crowded tables, and whether the visual makes the evidence easier to understand. Rehearse the transitions and inspect speaker notes in the actual presentation format. A good outline still needs layout and delivery review.
Canva's help page states that Convert to Presentation (Docs to Decks) is no longer available. Use a current presentation template and copy the reviewed content, or follow its supported in-Doc slide workflow. Check slide order, claims, and speaker notes after transferring the outline.
Ask AI for a checkable slide plan
Create a presentation outline from CHECKED BRIEF: [text + source IDs]. AUDIENCE, DECISION, AND AVAILABLE TIME: [state] REQUIRED FINDINGS AND OPEN QUESTIONS: [list] For each proposed slide, return purpose, message headline, concise visible content, suggested visual, source IDs, and speaker notes. Preserve limitations next to the related finding. Avoid inventing charts or supporting figures. End with the actual decision or next action. Output an outline for review, not a claim that a finished deck has been created.
Keep the outline, sources, and deck together
Store the approved outline and evidence with the editable presentation. When a source changes, the affected slides and notes should be identifiable without reading the whole deck again.
