AI Output Review for Content Editors: Check Facts and Conditions

Review the generated output against the source material before editing for style. Start with a claim that could change the reader's decision, then check its numbers and conditions. The filled review separates a supported dimension from an invented included-part claim.

Check important claims against the originals, preserve conditions, and separate factual corrections from style preferences. An AI review can identify questions for a person to resolve.

In this guide
  1. Give the reviewer the output and originals
  2. What does a completed editorial review show?
  3. Review facts, scope, and implied promises
  4. Look for the changes that alter meaning
  5. Record the decision and the remaining questions

Give the reviewer the output and originals

Use the actual draft, original pages/files, and the agreed reader task. Keep the writer's explanation separate so it does not substitute for the evidence.

Review the title, meta description, opening answer, tables, and FAQ when they carry factual claims. A correct body paragraph does not clear a stronger claim in the heading.

What does a completed editorial review show?

Inspect the draft against its evidence after generation. A fluent sentence adding a bundle still needs correction.

Review facts, scope, and implied promises

Reusable structure
DRAFT: [Paste the result]
ORIGINALS: [Source links/files and relevant passages]
AGREED TASK: [Reader decision and output requirements]

For each important claim, number, comparison, condition, or commitment, identify its original support. Return a table: passage | source | issue or unresolved point | smallest correction. Separate factual corrections from style preferences. Preserve uncertainty where sources do not settle a point. Do not approve a claim because the draft sounds plausible or another model accepted it.

Look for the changes that alter meaning

External size becomes usable internal space

A product draft must not turn the tray's external dimensions into a promise that a particular object fits inside.

A possible meeting becomes a confirmed deadline

Keep a tentative date and an access condition visible when reorganizing project notes.

An unstated fee becomes zero

A quote's missing shipping charge stays unknown; it is not evidence of free shipping.

Record the decision and the remaining questions

Make the smallest supported correction, then recheck the affected claim and any repeated version of it. Keep a short issue list with source IDs and the person's decision.

A clean style check only covers its configured rules. Keep factual review and final human approval in the workflow.
